VENTURE'S INCUBATOR
FOR SOCIAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT INITIATIVES
Where personal development and idea development meet to create successful and investable businesses.
What is an incubator? if you are thinking something to do with chickens you are not alone, however in this context we are referring to a place where student led business can receive support to grow.
Why? Because developing a successful business can be a long bumpy road and we hope to speed up the process by giving you access to the resources and expertise needed to achieve your best and make the road a bit less bumpy.
The Venture Incubator does this by providing:
Facilities
Access to and use of the co-working facilities
Workshops
Expert led skills development workshops
Strategies
Business model and strategic planning advice
Grants
Grants up to $3,000 issued 2x yearly
Mentorship
Advice from subject matter experts and mentors
Resources
A suite of online resources/advice/guidance
Guided by Venture Associate Director and Entrepreneur in Residence Josh Van Ross Venture's Incubator is delivered in a co-curricular, online and in person hybrid format over 6 months students engage in expert led workshops and with mentors culminating in a pitch night where the teams can pitch for further funding.
Recognising that it might not be this idea which is the big one the beauty of the program is that once a student enters they never have to exit, we can continue to work with them on this idea and the next.
What is a social impact initiative? Any enterprise which has a positive impact on a community. So yes - even businesses such as Canva, or Afterpay could fall under this criteria.
