At its heart is delivering innovative and meaningful professional development to culturally
and linguistically diverse groups of emerging artists who would not normally be able to access them.
Over the course of 4 projects, the Perth Orchestra Project will commission 4 new works by emerging
WA composers, and perform unheard classical works, performed a network of 100 emerging WA
POP seeks meaningful professional development for young WA musicians by creating paid
development opportunities that reduce the significant financial burden facing early-career musicians
which will assist in reducing their anxieties around making a choice between doing something
artistically fulfilling and financially sustaining. This will be achieved through creating high-quality
performances of works by new and underrepresented composers: A new composition will be
created and will promote diverse and underrepresented musicians and composers in WA.
